These days, it’s been a very busy day for me… Aku cuman diingetin bahwa the spelling of love is T-I-M-E.

So, last night… Instead of me having to read my bible, I asked myself whether GOD is please by the way I read my bible… Apparantly, He says no…

In repentance, my heart cries and I only read 3 verses (instead of my usual 4 chapters).. And it speaks so much more…

So, I will conclude that reading God’s love letter for us… Is not a matter of how much you read. It is how much love that you experience.

Be blessed,
Hari Simaguen

This is an excerpt from the daily devotional that I use…
Retrieved on March 27, 2008. I repost it in my web because I feel so blessed with it… and they update their site daily (No known mechanism to retrieve the previous post…). So, here you go… be blessed.

Genesis 39:2
The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man…

You may have no qualifications, position or wealth — nothing in the natural. But when the Lord is with you, you will end up with everything because He will cause you to be successful.

Joseph had nothing when his Egyptian master, Potiphar, bought him from the slave market. Yet, even then, it was said of him, “The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man…” Joseph, the slave, a successful man?

He was a nobody with nothing, not even a shirt on his back, not a dime to his name, no family members with him and no friends to turn to. All he had was the presence of the Lord. But it was because of this that he became successful, rising later to be the most powerful man in Egypt, second only to Pharaoh, who set him over all the land of Egypt. Joseph was given power, authority and riches. (Genesis 41:40–44) This happened because the Lord was with him.

A junior college student worshipping in our church experienced good success in his examination results for the same reason. The first to admit that throughout his student life, he had only scored mediocre grades, he obtained his first ever straight As for all his subjects when he sat for the Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) Examination simply believing that he would be successful because the Lord was with him!

Another church member, who was a fresh university graduate, believed that because the Lord was with her, she would be successful in the workforce. Even though she had no work experience and was faced with a gloomy job market, she succeeded in getting her first job in a short period of time and which gave her a salary beyond her expectations. Then, in spite of a directive from the parent company to freeze the wages of all employees, she received a pay increment as well as a company scholarship for further education!

Beloved, it does not matter if you are a nobody with nothing in the natural. When the Lord is with you, you will end up with everything because He will empower you to succeed, prosper and live the abundant life. Indeed, you will end up enjoying His favour, goodness and grace!

Looks like 2008 is my year of opportunity… Been talking to someone all night long. very inspiring n revolutionizing… Can’t tell much about the details but it will be awesome… Seems like all the book that I read leads me to this particular opportunity… Now, what I need is a working brain, support and prayer from the people around me… By the grace of God, I will be able to make it and persist when things get rough…

I’ll talk less and let my action speaks for itself…. So, that’s all for now. Ciao…

my bad… I didn’t really write the summary of ps. Kong’s sermon… The reason being is that I felt like I’ve heard millions of times from the CD already (The Power of Focus)… And just didn’t feel like to continue it… Sorry about that…

It is better to be early & wait than to be late & be waited for.

It is better to underpromise, make someone crancky but overdeliver.
rather than overpromise, make someone hopeful but underdeliver.

3 Stage of reaching success: Comfort Zone - Fear - Success (Point taken from Dake Beaumont).
You can try to think what does it means and how does that applies to your life.

Tomorrow I’ll update with another sermon’s point. Sermon by Kong Hee. Title of the message: Focus & Goal Setting

Joe had a problem, so he took it to his pastor. “Pastor, I’m having trouble tithing these days,” he confessed. “What seems to be the hang-up?” his pastor asked.

“Well, back when I made $50 a week, I tithed $5, which was easy. And when I made $500 a week, I tithed $50, which was okay. But now that I make $5,000 a week, I’m having a hard time. A $500 tithe is a lot of money! Will you pray for me, Pastor?”

“Sure,” said the pastor, “let’s pray! Father, please reduce Joe’s income back down to $500 a week so that he can honor You with the tithe.”

Thta’s a joke, of course. But it’s a joke that illustrates a common trap people fall into in their thinking about giving to God.

Repent = Re + Pent.
Re = To go back to something.
Pent = The highest place.
Repent =  To go back to the highest level of thinking.

The bridge between change and success is 3D:
1. Decision
2. Dedication
3. Discipline

Double-minded: When your will and your thinking is not in sync.

5 Reason or excuses that most people will give not to change:
1. Pride
2. Fear
3. Rebellion
4. Laziness
5. Ignorance

Only 2 type of person that won’t change:
1. Fools - they won’t change
2. Dead man - they can’t change

When change is necessary, not to change is destructive.

What can force you to change?
1. Crisis
2. Decision

4 Groups of people (Proverbs 1):
1. Simple one - Novice & Inexperience.
2. Fools - Won’t follow guidance. When fools meet fools, become scorners.
3. Scorners - Despise Wisdom, very critical & cynical.
4. Wise - Following guidance.

Your ability to lead change will determine your success in life.

I stumble upon the word ‘think and action’ from Andrie Wongso. Just a glance look for a while and I think it’s yet another good one for me to consider (Previously: 2008: Year of Opportunity)…. Why think and action? I will try to seperate a person into 4 categories:

  1. Think and Action — The kind of person who will succeed in life.
  2. No Thinking, Action Only — A childish person, who will act only on impulse without thinking of any implication or consequences of their action.
  3. Think Only, No Action – Chosen few whose life will not avail much. They will have a little (if any) impact to society.
  4. No Thinking, No Action — Undescribeable…..

I think I’ve been mostly on everything else except for the first one… To think and to have action… This year… It will be an awesome year… *cheers*

As I seek upon this life and what it holds on… I feel like there are so many things that I can’t express… I want to share on what I think in this blog but apparantly, I can’t…. The way I write limits my ability to communicate what I have thought…

For once, I thought I have drifted away to the ‘world’ … As I spent more and more time to explore the world outside of my comfort zone… But I now realise, that the ‘religious’ bondage that I have within me prevent me to go there… Anyway, happy surfing… enjoy your day… Still got some work to do… Life is fun and simple. Don’t make it complicated

I don’t even know where to start… Just some proof for me that my God is the ever present and living God that hears my prayer…

Case1: one night I wonder on what I should do to be successful in life… I’ve spent a lot of time to think on my career development and thinks about it… that is until I exhausted.. Suddenly I remember what Mr. Anta has said before: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom… accidentally, I stumble upon that verse on proverbs 9… I think (can’t remember now)… and another verse came to pass… “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” I ask, what is the kingdom of God and what should I seek… Few seconds later, I fell asleep…

The next morning I arrive at my office. Open up my daily devotional and behold… it explains on what the kingdom of God is.. How can you read that and not excited..? Furthermore, during the night when we have combined cell group, my cell group leader also says the verse about the ‘kingdom of God’ during the praise and worship time…  Isn’t that wonderful?

Case2: When I was having my shower… I say… “If there is God… Prove to me by having my PR granted today… ” Immediately I say, whoa… wait wait… I already believe in Him, and why did I say that? Trying to forget what I said and continue with my other activities…

In the afternoon, I’m just curios with my PR application and when I try to check it… Believe it or not, my PR was granted on that day…

Those 2 events occurs on the same day, which is Yesterday (26/10/2007)… What’s the odd for those events to be a mere ‘coincident’? or is it the prove that my God is a present and a living God… It’s an amazing experience for me.. What about you? what stories do you have?
