It is better to be early & wait than to be late & be waited for.

It is better to underpromise, make someone crancky but overdeliver.
rather than overpromise, make someone hopeful but underdeliver.

3 Stage of reaching success: Comfort Zone – Fear – Success (Point taken from Dake Beaumont).
You can try to think what does it means and how does that applies to your life.

Tomorrow I’ll update with another sermon’s point. Sermon by Kong Hee. Title of the message: Focus & Goal Setting

Joe had a problem, so he took it to his pastor. “Pastor, I’m having trouble tithing these days,” he confessed. “What seems to be the hang-up?” his pastor asked.

“Well, back when I made $50 a week, I tithed $5, which was easy. And when I made $500 a week, I tithed $50, which was okay. But now that I make $5,000 a week, I’m having a hard time. A $500 tithe is a lot of money! Will you pray for me, Pastor?”

“Sure,” said the pastor, “let’s pray! Father, please reduce Joe’s income back down to $500 a week so that he can honor You with the tithe.”

Thta’s a joke, of course. But it’s a joke that illustrates a common trap people fall into in their thinking about giving to God.

Repent = Re + Pent.
Re = To go back to something.
Pent = The highest place.
Repent =  To go back to the highest level of thinking.

The bridge between change and success is 3D:
1. Decision
2. Dedication
3. Discipline

Double-minded: When your will and your thinking is not in sync.

5 Reason or excuses that most people will give not to change:
1. Pride
2. Fear
3. Rebellion
4. Laziness
5. Ignorance

Only 2 type of person that won’t change:
1. Fools – they won’t change
2. Dead man – they can’t change

When change is necessary, not to change is destructive.

What can force you to change?
1. Crisis
2. Decision

4 Groups of people (Proverbs 1):
1. Simple one – Novice & Inexperience.
2. Fools - Won’t follow guidance. When fools meet fools, become scorners.
3. Scorners – Despise Wisdom, very critical & cynical.
4. Wise – Following guidance.

Your ability to lead change will determine your success in life.

I stumble upon the word ‘think and action’ from Andrie Wongso. Just a glance look for a while and I think it’s yet another good one for me to consider (Previously: 2008: Year of Opportunity)…. Why think and action? I will try to seperate a person into 4 categories:

  1. Think and Action — The kind of person who will succeed in life.
  2. No Thinking, Action Only — A childish person, who will act only on impulse without thinking of any implication or consequences of their action.
  3. Think Only, No Action – Chosen few whose life will not avail much. They will have a little (if any) impact to society.
  4. No Thinking, No Action — Undescribeable…..

I think I’ve been mostly on everything else except for the first one… To think and to have action… This year… It will be an awesome year… *cheers*

As I seek upon this life and what it holds on… I feel like there are so many things that I can’t express… I want to share on what I think in this blog but apparantly, I can’t…. The way I write limits my ability to communicate what I have thought…

For once, I thought I have drifted away to the ‘world’ … As I spent more and more time to explore the world outside of my comfort zone… But I now realise, that the ‘religious’ bondage that I have within me prevent me to go there… Anyway, happy surfing… enjoy your day… Still got some work to do… Life is fun and simple. Don’t make it complicated

I don’t even know where to start… Just some proof for me that my God is the ever present and living God that hears my prayer…

Case1: one night I wonder on what I should do to be successful in life… I’ve spent a lot of time to think on my career development and thinks about it… that is until I exhausted.. Suddenly I remember what Mr. Anta has said before: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom… accidentally, I stumble upon that verse on proverbs 9… I think (can’t remember now)… and another verse came to pass… “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” I ask, what is the kingdom of God and what should I seek… Few seconds later, I fell asleep…

The next morning I arrive at my office. Open up my daily devotional and behold… it explains on what the kingdom of God is.. How can you read that and not excited..? Furthermore, during the night when we have combined cell group, my cell group leader also says the verse about the ‘kingdom of God’ during the praise and worship time…  Isn’t that wonderful?

Case2: When I was having my shower… I say… “If there is God… Prove to me by having my PR granted today… ” Immediately I say, whoa… wait wait… I already believe in Him, and why did I say that? Trying to forget what I said and continue with my other activities…

In the afternoon, I’m just curios with my PR application and when I try to check it… Believe it or not, my PR was granted on that day…

Those 2 events occurs on the same day, which is Yesterday (26/10/2007)… What’s the odd for those events to be a mere ‘coincident’? or is it the prove that my God is a present and a living God… It’s an amazing experience for me.. What about you? what stories do you have?

Since I went back to Indonesia for holiday, few things have been going around… I feel that my life is in the shuffle. While a lot of things still stays the same, there are major changes as well.

During this transitional phase, I didn’t blog much either… now knowing on where to start and when to finish… 1 thing for sure is that there is no stagnancy in our life. Either we are growing or we are decaying. God bless.

P.S. will be away for weeks.

Hi, This is a story about a boy that can’t decide on something and how his God involves in it.

There is a boy, who just graduate from his bachelor degree and got a job in his field. After months of experential learning, he felt that the work is not really suitable for him and its time for him to move on… The problem is, he can’t find another job and he desperately wants to quit that particular job…

This particular boy has been struggling with the job that he had, and after hearing lots of advices from his parents and friends, many said to him that he should look for another job while maintaining his current job.. The problem is, he didn’t find any and he still wants to quit…

But you know, his God knows what is inside the boy’s heart and He doesn’t want His precious and beloved boy not to enjoy his work… He made it so that the company would terminate his contract. The boy heard about the after he came back from his 2-weeks holiday…

Would that surprise him a lot? Yes! Shocking news? Of course! But the boy is feeling happy. More than ever before, he knows that his God cares for him even to the tiny-est detail. He knows that his God provides his needs and will bring him from glory to glory. His God will make the thing that looks bad in human eyes into something good. =D

With warm love,
His beloved,

Hari Simaguen

Hiiya,,

Several days now in Indonesia… The Lord led me to several people that brings a huge impact in the way I think about Jesus, about me, my plans, and many more. I don’t even know where to start…

Points that I need to remember forever:
1. When I can’t see my future, I can see the way I live… When I walk in the right way, I can be assured that I’m on the right way [Inspirational moment: September 7, Leech Hwy. Driving back from oikos].
2. Satan is dumb ~~ He doesn’t know what we thinks. The problem is, we often blabber alot… [Inspirational moment: September 9, New Creation Church, Joseph Prince].
3. Something that is done naively and without any bad intention can be dangerous… — I owe an apology to a person in regards of this.. (If you’re reading this, I want to talk to you) — [Inspirational moment: September 12, Supermal Karawaci, a chat with a friend].

I think those 3 moments changes me as a person. There are still many little things I need to remind myself of, but I think this is sufficient for now. I believe that in a near future, I will understand more things than I currently do. Meanwhile,, I am looking forward for another exciting moments to come.

<Missing my friends who join ‘freaky factor’ in Perth…>

I was chatting with Annice just now… We talk about the competition she joined last week. Apparently, she lost… but you know what… I’ve also joined several competition and I know the feeling of loosing the ‘battle’…

I used to say to myself. The most important thing is the process, and not the result. Here are some thought to back-up the saying.

  • With a large scale competition, let’s say there is 100 contestant… There will be only 1 winner (depending on what competition it is). If all the people only care about the outcome of the competition, there will be 99 people who will be feeling sad, hurt and disapointed.
  • Even when it’s a “battle” between 2 person (perhaps love?), it is destined for the other person to feel defeated.

Just imagine the exact same situation and you have a different point of view. you are there to enjoy the competition, to give all you’ve got (Thank God if you win…) Imagine you’re enjoying every moment of the event… Wouldn’t that be enough if you have given your best? This reminds me that if we can treat our life like these, wouldn’t that be wonderful?

Question Mark

Question to reflect on yourself: If you saw someone who are better than you in a lot of way, would you be: a. jealous? b. inspired? If you feel jealous in a way, maybe you’re looking at the end-result and wondering about your poor performance. If you feel inspired, congratulations!

P.S. Statistically speaking, when you fix your eyes on the result at least 50-99% people will be disapointed. (See illustration above). If we’re just to enjoy the process and learn from it, 100% of people will be satisfied, wouldn’t it?
